On October 24, a representative of Hospital 22-12 said that the patient was admitted four days ago, with dull abdominal pain in the right hypochondrium, fever and nausea. The doctor discovered a large 5 cm stone, diagnosed acute cholecystitis, and indicated laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
The surgical team removed 113 stones, each the size of a pea. After surgery, the patient was conscious, in stable health, and recovering well.
