More than 2,000 cruise ship tourists arrive in Da Nang

DNO - On the morning of January 2, the Department of Tourism coordinated with Da Nang Port, Border Guards and Destination Asia Travel Company Limited to welcome the first 2,000 cruise ship tourists to Da Nang on the occasion of New Year 2024.

The Westerdam cruise ship (owned by the famous Holland America Line) docked at Tien Sa port, Da Nang on the morning of January 2.

This is the first international cruise ship to Da Nang in the new year, bringing 2,000 passengers and 781 crew members mainly from the Netherlands and other countries such as England, France, Italy, Denmark, Hungary, Canada, America, Korea, Japan, Australia... to visit and travel in Da Nang.

The first tourists getting off the ship were given flowers, souvenirs, and welcomed with bustling lion dance activities.

Right after getting off the ship, visitors have a day of sightseeing at special destinations in Da Nang such as the National Monument of Ngu Hanh Son, Linh Ung Pagoda, Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture...

Coming to Da Nang for the first time on New Year's Day, in the bustling and exciting atmosphere, American tourist Brittiany Campbell felt very happy and excited.

I hope to have a happy new year, and have a meaningful New Year's Eve trip in Da Nang. I will visit some tourist attractions, shop at local markets...

Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong said that in 2024, Da Nang is expected to welcome 45 trains with more than 40,000 passengers.

Cruise tourists are often high-spending customers and are an important source of city tourism.

Therefore, the city's tourism industry will promote and innovate tourism products to meet the needs and tastes of cruise tourists, while enhancing the experience of this type of tourist when visiting Da Nang.

It is known that the Westerdam is a 5-star luxury cruise ship belonging to the famous Holland America Line, designed with a classic, luxurious style; comfortable interior with the most modern equipment. The ship has 11 spacious floors with 14 elevators, 3 swimming pools, and a terrace.

The ship departed from Sihanouville (Cambodia) and docked at Phu My port (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) and Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) before arriving in Da Nang. The ship will leave Da Nang in the evening of the same day to continue its journey.
