More than 2,000 officers and soldiers attended the 9th "For National Security" Health Congress

On July 18, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a press conference to inform about the 9th "For National Security" Sports Congress and the 6th People's Public Security (CAND) Regulation, Military and Martial Arts Competition.

According to Major General Pham Kim Dinh - Director of the Department of Political Work (X03), these two major activities were deployed throughout the People's Public Security force, aiming to evaluate the physical training movement, inspect the command work, military training, martial arts and enhance the fighting spirit of officers and soldiers in the new situation.

Regional qualifying rounds have been held since 2024, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere throughout the industry, aiming to celebrate major holidays of the country and the Public Security Forces. The Sports Congress and Competition will be held from August 2024 to August 2025 in many localities including Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Lam Dong and Phu Tho.

In phase 1 (2024), the Health Congress organized nearly 200 activities, events, and sports tournaments, mobilizing 16,256 officers and soldiers to participate in competitions to select and form participating delegations. The total number of athletes and coaches participating in phase 1 was 4,073 officers and soldiers from 97 delegations. There were 83 delegations participating in the competition, with more than 7,000 officers and soldiers participating.

Phase 2 (2025), the Health Congress organizes competitions in professional sports of firefighting and rescue, including preliminary rounds in localities, qualifying rounds in 8 regions and the final round held in Hanoi from May 28 to 30, with 320 athletes from 18 teams of fire prevention, firefighting and rescue police forces from localities across the country participating.

According to the plan, there will be 97 delegations, with nearly 2,000 delegation leaders, coaches, and athletes participating. The final round of the competition includes 26 teams, with 2,200 officers and soldiers participating, selected from 83 teams competing in the qualifying round.

The opening ceremony will be held at 8:10 p.m. on July 26 at My Dinh National Stadium (Hanoi), the closing ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on August 1 at the Ministry of Public Security's Great Hall, 47 Pham Van Dong (Hanoi).

Participants in the Fitness Congress include officers, non-commissioned officers, students of the People's Public Security schools (except for civilian systems), police workers, contract workers receiving salaries from the State budget and individual members of the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association. The competition is for officers, non-commissioned officers, conscripts and students of the People's Public Security schools.

This year's Health Congress will organize 115 competitions in 10 sports, including: 8 running application events, 22 swimming application events, 10 Healthy Police Soldier events, 4 professional sports events for firefighting and rescue, 7-a-side men's football, men's volleyball, 15 badminton events, 18 table tennis events, 12 tennis events and 24 chess events. The event will take place from July 24 to August 1 in Hanoi.

In addition, the People's Public Security Regulation, Military and Martial Arts Competition includes 18 events in 3 subjects: 4 Public Security Regulation events (including theory and practice), 4 martial arts events and 10 military events.

Regarding professional work, the Ministry of Public Security has closely coordinated with the Vietnam Sports Department, national and local sports federations and associations to mobilize highly qualified referees to manage competitions.

According to Major General Pham Kim Dinh, these two large-scale sports and professional activities are an opportunity to widely propagate and educate about the 80-year tradition of building, fighting and growing up of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025). Thereby, arousing pride, responsibility and emulation spirit among officers and soldiers of the entire force.

At the same time, this is an opportunity to encourage officers and soldiers of the whole industry to actively study and practice to improve their political qualities, physical strength and sense of responsibility; to build a clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern People's Public Security force.

The congress is also the basis for evaluating the sports movement in the People's Public Security Forces in the period of 2020 - 2025; verifying the results of training in regulations, military, martial arts and raising the sense of discipline and combat readiness of each officer and soldier.
