Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that during the high school graduation exam this morning, June 27, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City handled the special situation to ensure maximum benefits for the candidates.

Accordingly, this morning, candidate LQ (residing in Binh Chanh District), a student at Han Thuyen High School, on the way to the Phu Nhuan High School exam site, his vehicle broke down. Because it was almost time for the exam, LQ quickly ran to the Vinh Loc High School exam site (Binh Tan District) to ask for help.

Upon receiving the information, the head of the testing site quickly reported it to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training. With a humane and flexible spirit in direction, the Department of Education and Training allowed the testing site to use a backup testing room to create conditions for candidates to take the optional test on time.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City has 97,940 candidates taking the high school graduation exam under the 2018 General Education Program and 1,638 candidates under the 2006 General Education Program. Notably, the number of independent candidates increased by 5,000 compared to last year, posing new challenges in the organization.

The city has arranged 171 examination sites with a total of 4,242 examination rooms, mobilizing 12,000 cadres, teachers and employees to participate in the examination. Specifically, 168 examination sites with 4,180 examination rooms are for candidates under the 2018 Program and 3 examination sites with 62 examination rooms for candidates under the 2006 Program. Each examination site is arranged with 3 spare rooms to handle arising situations.

During the training sessions with the leaders of the examination sites before the high school graduation exam, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training, noted that incidents and incidents occurring at the examination sites are always unpredictable, but all these situations must still be handled based on the regulations and rules of the examination. For any situations that are not included in the regulations and rules, the leaders of the examination sites must report to the City Examination Steering Committee. This spirit must be thoroughly conveyed by the leaders of the examination sites to each invigilator, so that each member participating in this exam must be aware of and responsible for the exam and for their own students.
