FPT and Creaform, a leading technology company, will cooperate to implement cultural heritage digitization projects in Vietnam. The cooperation is expected to build a leading heritage digitization platform in Vietnam, comparable to the standards being applied in advanced countries.

Creaform's solution enables precise digitization of every detail, material and shape of cultural artifacts, opening up the possibility of digital restoration of tangible and intangible heritage, while supporting museums, archives and cultural organizations to create highly accurate digital data warehouses.

From there, the two sides have the opportunity to develop virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) experiences and conservation and exhibition models on digital platforms.

It is estimated that the country currently has more than 40,000 relics and nearly 70,000 intangible cultural heritages inventoried, of which 34 heritages are listed by UNESCO. The museum system includes 203 museums (127 public, 76 non-public), with more than 4 million artifacts preserved and displayed.

Previously, on March 28, 2025, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund and the Department of Cultures of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups, the CDIT Institute of Information and Communications Technology, and the TikTok platform officially signed a cooperation agreement to preserve and promote the values of Vietnamese cultural heritage on digital platforms.

In addition, some relic sites and localities have achieved success in digitizing heritage. For example, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has just won the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2024 for its application of digital technology to preserve and promote the value of Hue's heritage and culture.

The unit has digitized more than 25,000 pages of Han Nom documents, 172 files (relic files, archaeological files, heritage files...), 250 royal decree photos, 295 poetry photos on Hue royal architecture...
