Hue 'joins hands' with Fast Retailing Group to develop textile industry

The leaders of Thua Thien Hue province wish to cooperate with Fast Retailing Group (UNIQLO) to develop the textile and garment industry into one of the key export industries and make an important contribution to the province's GRDP.

The leaders of Thua Thien Hue province wish to cooperate with Fast Retailing Group (UNIQLO) to develop the textile and garment industry into one of the key export industries and make an important contribution to the province's GRDP.

According to Mr. Koyama Noriaki, Senior Executive Director of Fast Retailing Group, in October 2024, this enterprise submitted an application for a license to establish a retail facility at Aeon Mall Hue with a sales area of 1,532.5 m2. The retail facility in Thua Thien Hue province specializes in trading textile products, ready-made clothing, footwear, and other fashion accessories under the UNIQLO brand and other brands.

Mr. Koyama Noriaki hopes that the provincial leaders will support, care for, and create conditions for the Company to expand and develop, create the UNIQLO brand and other brands to contribute to the shopping needs of the people.

Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue province, hopes that Fast Retailing Group will cooperate to develop the textile and garment industry into one of the key export industries and make an important contribution to the province's GRDP in accordance with the development strategy of the textile and footwear industry in Vietnam.

“Fast Retailing Group focuses on developing textile and garment supporting industrial products to serve and meet the demand for input materials for textile and garment enterprises in the province and the Central region; developing the garment sector from the current CMT (garment processing) model to the ODM (from design to processing) production model, promoting product research and design, building and developing product brands to increase added value and product competitiveness; forming and developing the fashion industry,” Mr. Phuong shared.

UNIQLO has been established for 60 years and is present in nearly 30 countries around the world with a total of more than 2,400 stores. UNIQLO stores mainly sell ready-to-wear fashion clothing, footwear, and finished fashion accessories.
