Thailand promotes and attracts Vietnamese MICE tourists

The country expects to increase the total number of MICE visitors from Vietnam to 50,000 in 2023. Thailand is promoted as a popular MICE destination in Southeast Asia. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the country welcomed 1.5 million MICE visitors from around the world each year. However, since the pandemic, the number has decreased by 50% and is only about 750,000 visitors/year.

Therefore, the TCEB business forum held in Ho Chi Minh City also aims to promote and welcome Vietnamese enterprises to participate in exhibitions and conferences in Thailand. Mr. Puripan Bunnag emphasized that Vietnam's rapid economic growth, especially in the field of manufacturing and innovation, along with the increase in foreign investment has created a promising market for the development of the MICE market.

In 2023, Thailand will host 145 international events in many fields, from livestock, manufacturing to packaging... Thailand's development strategy is to focus on promoting and developing target industries, including manufacturing, electronics and future automobiles. TCEB representatives said that through exhibitions and conferences, Vietnamese businesses will have the opportunity to access a range of technologies, connect with business partners...

TCEB representative added: The Thai government always supports connection activities in the ASEAN region as well as connection activities to increase trade between Thailand and Vietnam. TCEB itself will also support businesses in organizing seminars, conferences or participating in exhibitions such as connecting businesses of the host country; there is support for travel and accommodation costs depending on the event...
