On the morning of July 30, the People's Council of Vinh Long province, term X (2021 - 2026), opened the 2nd session (regular session in mid-2025), to assess the socio -economic development, national defense and security situation of the province in the first 6 months of 2025; discuss and decide on socio -economic development tasks for the last 6 months of 2025; carry out personnel work; and decide on important issues of the province.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the XV National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province; Mr. Be Trung Anh - National Assembly Delegate working full-time at the Delegation Work Committee, National Assembly Delegate of Vinh Long province; Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Minh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Van Han - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Mr. Kim Ngoc Thai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Lam Minh Dang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province, and 138/148 delegates of the Provincial People's Council.
At this session, the Provincial People's Council will consider and give opinions on personnel work; consider 8 reports of the Provincial People's Committee on the results of the first 6 months of the year, the direction and tasks for the last 6 months of the year on the socio-economic situation; on the results of budget revenue and expenditure; the results of using the budget reserve, on the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity; the work of preventing and combating crimes and violations of the law; the results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations in previous sessions and the meeting with voters before the 2nd session of the 10th Provincial People's Council; consider the report on the results of the work in the first 6 months of the year and the direction and tasks for the last 6 months of 2025 of the judicial agencies; consider 6 reports of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Council Committees on the results of the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of the year, the work program for the last 6 months of the year; Report on the contents agreed upon by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee between the two sessions of the Provincial People's Council, announce the synthesis of opinions and recommendations of voters and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province to participate in government building in the first 6 months of 2025. At the same time, consider and approve 24 important resolutions according to their authority, in order to institutionalize the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws in the province.

In order for the session to take place on time, achieving quality, efficiency and requirements of the Provincial People's Council's activities, Mr. Nguyen Minh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Provincial People's Council delegates to continue to promote and perform more effectively the role and responsibility of the People's Representative; be more united, determined and responsible in performing the tasks of the Provincial People's Council delegates; promote the spirit of democracy, research, discussion, objective reflection, suggestions, contribute many dedicated, profound and quality opinions to the documents submitted at this session so that the documents and resolutions of the Provincial People's Council are passed with the highest consensus, contributing to the success of the session, meeting the expectations of voters in the province.
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council voted to pass a Resolution on the dismissal of the delegate of the People's Council of Vinh Long province, term X, 2021 - 2026.

Accordingly, 100% of the Provincial People's Council delegates unanimously voted to pass the Resolution to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Thanh The - former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, from the duties of the People's Council delegate of Vinh Long province, term X, term 2021 - 2026, due to retirement and at his request.
