Holding a certificate of merit from the Director of Bach Mai Hospital, nurse Dang Thi Ha (29 years old, working at A9 Emergency Center) said that saving people is her responsibility as a medical staff. She is also proud because she studied and trained at Bach Mai Hospital to respond quickly to save patients.

"At that time, I only thought about how to save the patient, not caring who they were," said nurse Ha, adding that she was lucky to help the Indian tourist escape danger, so that international friends would have a better impression of the country's healthcare system.

Director of Bach Mai Hospital Dao Xuan Co presented a certificate of merit to the female nurse.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, shared that the act of nursing Ha giving emergency aid to a foreign tourist is a beautiful image of Vietnamese medical staff to the community and the world.

The foreign man who had cardiac arrest at a restaurant in Da Nang would not have survived if not for the A9 nurse who happened to be there. "It is a great pride that medical staff, no matter where they are, in the hospital or in the community, can save people," he said.

Director of Bach Mai Hospital commended nurse Dang Thi Ha and the A9 Emergency Center. On behalf of the hospital's leadership, Associate Professor Co awarded a certificate of merit to nurse Dang Thi Ha for her outstanding achievements in providing emergency care to patients in the community.

Mr. Co assessed that emergency treatment outside the hospital is very important, it will bring the patient a chance to live. Patients with circulatory arrest who are not given emergency treatment within a few minutes are at risk of brain loss, and those with spinal cord injuries who are not given proper first aid can have lifelong consequences.

In the near future, Center A9 will have an outpatient emergency department. The hospital also plans to train staff who know how to provide outpatient emergency care to equip the outpatient emergency system, the leader added.

Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on March 24, nurse Dang Thi Ha was having dinner with four friends at a restaurant in Son Tra district, Da Nang, when she encountered a foreign man at the next table suddenly having a cardiac arrest.

She quickly approached, checked the man's pulse and performed CPR, saving the male tourist from danger.

The patient is Mr. Narinder (India) traveling with his wife in Da Nang. He has a history of coronary artery disease and had to undergo coronary artery bypass surgery.
