The Deputy Prime Minister concluded that the expressway projects in the Mekong Delta region are extremely important to the country, creating new momentum for regional development. The workload in the coming time of each project is still very large, requiring all levels, sectors and localities to be proactive, flexible and creative in applying policies, mechanisms and strategies for implementation.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested units to strictly implement the Prime Minister's direction and strive to achieve the goal of completing the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project by 2025 and basically completing the entire Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway by 2026.

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) is assigned to urgently preside over and coordinate with localities, project management boards, and contractors to review and synthesize sand supply capacity to ensure the progress of each project; add plans for using sea sand, and report to the Prime Minister. The MOT, together with competent agencies, investors, project management boards, and contractors, closely follow the work and proactively work with localities to speed up the progress of granting permits for exploitation of landfill materials. Absolutely do not let projects fall behind schedule due to lack of sand, gravel, and stone materials.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) urgently researches and proposes an assessment of the entire reserves of river and sea sand in the Mekong Delta region.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to review the standards, norms, and processes for handling sea sand for construction and landfill activities. This will serve as a basis for localities to research and pilot implementation for works and projects in the area.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and localities to urgently complete the determination of local sea area boundaries. In the immediate future, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province will exploit sea sand at the licensed B1.3 mine to supply sand for key expressway projects in the Mekong Delta region.
