Bustling 3-region tourism

Many localities across the country are also ready to welcome tourists on the occasion of September 2nd with their own unique features. Towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2nd, Dien Bien province has launched a series of large-scale commemorative activities, lasting from July to September.

Highlights include the Incense Offering Ceremony at the Dien Bien Phu Martyrs' Temple (August 29) and especially the "Quintessence of the Northwest - Dien Bien 2025" Festival taking place from August 29 to 31, promising to attract a large number of tourists to this historic land.

In addition, the trend of tourist migration also opens up opportunities for other localities to promote stimulus programs, attracting groups of tourists who want to relax with their families and leave their place of residence.

According to records from a number of hotels and travel companies, many customers have tended to switch to resort tours such as Hoa Binh , Ninh Binh, Sa Pa, Ha Long, Da Lat, Phu Quoc...

Search data shows that the top 5 most popular destinations for the 2.9 holiday are: Hanoi (up 4,418% compared to last year), Nha Trang, Da Nang, Da Lat and Vung Tau. Domestic tours are diverse and popular destinations for the 2.9 holiday include: North (Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Ninh Binh), Central (Hue, Da Nang), South (An Giang, Lam Dong, Gia Lai).

Ms. Thanh Mai (Da Nang) said, “For the past few years, every holiday, my family has chosen to go to the beach. This year, my children decided to take the whole family to Phu Quoc. I heard that there are many new entertainment areas there and the beach is also very beautiful and peaceful. My family wants to have a truly relaxing vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.”

This year, tourists tend to book rooms and services earlier than usual, especially at coastal accommodations and luxury cruise services. September 2 is still the end of summer, the weather is relatively cool, with little rain, favorable for outdoor activities.

In addition, many families tend to choose to travel nearby, both saving costs and being proactive in their schedules. Cruise operators predict that the number of passengers booking ships will increase by about 15-20% compared to the same period in 2024.

Hanoi becomes a hot spot attracting tourists on September 2nd

Airfares increase, Hanoi becomes a "hot spot"

This year’s September 2nd holiday, with a series of important commemorative events and a long break, is creating a vibrant tourism wave across the country. In particular, flights to Hanoi are becoming the focus with a surge in bookings.

Specifically, the journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi during the September 2 holiday is expected to have one-way economy class tickets from 2.1 - 5.6 million VND and business class from 5.3 million VND or more.

For a round-trip ticket, the total cost for the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route can range from VND5 - 7.5 million for economy class, depending on the airline and time slot. Booking tickets close to the holidays can cause prices to increase even more due to limited supply.

In addition, other popular routes also recorded an upward trend in prices. The route from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang has a round-trip ticket price from 2.6 million VND or more. The route from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc has a common one-way ticket price from 900 thousand - 1.9 million VND...

Despite the price adjustment, this is still a suitable level for the peak tourist season, especially on short flights or flights with many airlines.

A special highlight is that Hanoi will put into operation high-quality night trains from August 19, notably the tourist train named “Nam Cua O”. This train will officially depart on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), towards the anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Visitors can enjoy drinks at the bar and skylight space while admiring Hanoi's night scene. The train runs 2 trips/day, including the route connecting Hanoi with Tu Son (Bac Ninh) and the route around the inner city at night, helping visitors experience the vibrant space of old Hanoi in the heart of the modern city.

This train is also combined with a sightseeing tram to Do Temple, enhancing the spiritual and historical cultural experience, expanding the journey to explore the rich suburban area. The "Five Gate" train is expected to become a new symbol of Hanoi night tourism, contributing to conveying historical and cultural stories through multi-dimensional experiences right on the train.
