Dong Thai is an ancient village in Tung Anh commune, Duc Tho district ( Ha Tinh ), a place name dating back to the 15th year of Hoang Dinh, during the reign of King Le Kinh Tong (1614).

During the feudal dynasties, Dong Thai was known as the village of mandarins when 24 people passed the doctoral examinations. Among them were many famous people who made great contributions in many fields to the country such as: Imperial Doctor Bui Duong Lich, Imperial Doctor Bui Thuc Kien, Minister Phan Ba Dat, Doctor Phan Dinh Phung...
With a tradition of studiousness and mandarin achievements, Dong Thai is listed among the 20 villages of mandarin achievements - the civilization of Vietnam. This is also the place where the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement (1930 - 1931) began in Duc Tho; twice the red flag with the hammer and sickle of the Party was raised above the communal house of Dong Thai village.

Up to now, after 410 years of formation and development, Dong Thai still retains relics and temples to honor the children of the homeland who have contributed to the village and the country. Currently, Dong Thai village has 259 households with more than 1,000 people; more than 100 professors and doctors.
Throughout historical periods, the cadres and people in the village have united and made efforts to build the village to become more civilized and prosperous. In particular, since the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Dong Thai has become a bright spot. The infrastructure system of electricity and roads has been upgraded and built spaciously and modernly. Economic models have increasingly developed in quantity and quality.
People's material and spiritual life has been improved, with average income per capita reaching 69 million VND/year. Dong Thai village is focusing on building a village that meets the standards of a Smart New Rural Residential Area by 2024.
At the ceremony, Dong Thai village held a ceremony to worship the village's tutelary god at the provincial historical relic Dong Thai village communal house.
According to traditional customs, every year, on the 13th day of the first lunar month, the people of Dong Thai village and children from all over the country gather at Dong Thai communal house to hold a ceremony to worship the village's tutelary god.
Dong Thai communal house relic was started to be built in 1885 and inaugurated in 1890, to worship Dinh Liet, a meritorious mandarin of the Le dynasty, who had contributed to the people's security and national protection, and was revered by the villagers as the village's tutelary god.
