On August 1, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung chaired an important meeting with ministries and sectors on the development of the National Innovative Startup Project. This is a strategic project with the core goal of spreading the entrepreneurial spirit throughout society, making Vietnam a dynamic startup nation.
At the meeting, reporting on the project development process, the representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology said that it had closely coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Finance and had sent comments to agencies and localities across the country for synthesis and completion.
According to the Prime Minister's direction, the project needs to focus on key tasks such as raising people's awareness of startups and innovation. The spirit of the project is to affirm that startups have no boundaries or age limits, while mobilizing the participation of all people in this movement, along with researching and perfecting policies and institutions to create the most favorable environment.
In order to realize this viewpoint, the Ministry of Science and Technology has completed the Project in a more open direction. Accordingly, the concept of "startup" is expanded, including not only technology startups but also individuals, business households, and cooperatives. This approach aims to minimize barriers and encourage diverse models in the spirit of "national start-up, all-people start-up", with the foundation being creative ideas, technology applications, especially in the digital transformation process.
The project's biggest goal is to create a profound change in perception, build a society that honors creative thinking, daring to think and do, taking risks, and encourage people to enrich themselves legitimately, thereby contributing to the common prosperity of the country.
At the meeting, representatives of ministries and branches also discussed enthusiastically, clarified the contents of scope, subjects, proposed solutions to bring startup education into schools, financial support policies, and noted the need to avoid duplication and overlap with existing policies and guidelines.
In his concluding remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that although the startup spirit is widely spread, the project should focus resources on creative startups. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, it is necessary to promote startups based on technology platforms and digital environments to develop ideas. The State will play a comprehensive supporting role, from the idea incubation stage, trial production to product commercialization, creating a complete and effective creative startup ecosystem.
