Joining the delegation were Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Nguyen Manh Ha and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan.
Mr. Tran Dinh Hai - Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Sekong province said: Currently, the Vietnamese Association in Sekong province has 73 households with 415 people. Since 2005, the provinces and cities in the Central region of Vietnam have supported the construction of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship School in Sekong province. This school year, the school has 747 students at 3 levels, including 65 overseas Vietnamese students.
The staff and teachers of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship School have continuously researched, helped each other to progress, maintained teaching Vietnamese to preserve traditions and made efforts to support the community to progress together.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Dung discussed and learned about the lives and listened to the thoughts, aspirations and suggestions of Vietnamese people living in Sekong province. At the same time, he acknowledged the contributions of overseas Vietnamese people, contributing to fostering the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general and Quang Nam and Sekong provinces in particular.
On the occasion of Laos' traditional New Year Bunpimay, comrade Nguyen Duc Dung wished the Vietnamese community living and working in Sekong province to always be united, close-knit and support each other to develop together, contributing positively to the special friendship between the two countries.
