Lao Cai temporarily does not collect tuition fees from September to the end of November.

On September 24, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee - Giang Thi Dung signed Document 5318/UBND-VX on researching and advising on not collecting tuition fees for a certain period of time for students in areas affected by storm No. 3.

Accordingly, considering the proposal of the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province on temporarily not collecting tuition fees from September to the end of November, school year 2024 - 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to study, based on the extent of damage and scope of influence of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and decision not to collect tuition fees for a certain period of time for children in kindergartens and public primary school students, students at continuing education institutions following the general education program in the storm-affected areas as prescribed in Article 17, Decree 81/2021/ND-CP of the Government.

Article 17 of Decree 81/2021/ND-CP of the Government clearly states: "When natural disasters, epidemics, and force majeure events occur as announced by competent authorities; depending on the extent and scope of damage, the Provincial People's Committee shall submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and decision not to collect tuition fees for a certain period of time for children in kindergartens and public primary school students, students studying at regular educational institutions following the general education program in areas affected by natural disasters, epidemics, and areas where force majeure events occur".

To reduce difficulties for students and their parents due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), while waiting for the issuance of this policy, the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province immediately informs educational institutions to temporarily not collect tuition fees from September to the end of November for the above subjects.
