At 1:00 a.m. on February 8, a Tan Kim Chi passenger car with a Ho Chi Minh City license plate was traveling on National Highway 1, heading North - South. When it reached the Nai Pass area, Xuan Thinh Commune, Song Cau Town ( Phu Yen ), the car crashed into the median strip and overturned, blocking part of the road. At that time, it was raining lightly and the road was slippery.
At the scene, the car was badly damaged, the windows were shattered, many people in the car were screaming for help and panicking. 3 people died, including a 34-year-old woman.
A representative of Tan Kim Chi bus said the accident happened on the Da Nang - Da Lat (Lam Dong) route. The bus company is coordinating with authorities to help transport the injured victims to the hospital. Regarding the number of passengers on the bus, the unit is checking because many people canceled their tickets during the booking process.
Mr. Lam Duy Dung, Vice Chairman of Song Cau Town People's Committee, said that 8 victims with multiple injuries are being treated at Binh Dinh Provincial General Hospital; 8 people are being treated at Song Cau Town Medical Center (Phu Yen), 11 passengers with minor injuries went to a medical facility in Binh Dinh for examination.
The police organized the emergency treatment of the victims, examined the scene, measured the alcohol concentration of the driver and investigated the cause of the accident.
