The open surgery took about 60 minutes, the doctor removed 15 large and small stones from Mr. H's bladder, some as big as a chicken egg.

Mr. H. is currently recovering well and is expected to be discharged in the next few days.

Doctor Ta Huu Nghia (hospital surgery department) said that bladder stones are caused by stones falling from the kidney to the bladder and gradually growing larger. People need to drink enough water and avoid sitting for long periods to reduce the risk of stones forming due to stagnation.

"In particular, older men should regularly go for check-ups and screening for problems related to prostate hyperplasia to detect and treat early, avoiding complications that can affect health," the doctor recommended.
