On the morning of January 29 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), the sovereignty flag-raising ceremony to mark the beginning of the new year took place in a sacred and solemn atmosphere at Bach Long Vi island district, Hai Phong city.
At exactly 8 o'clock, leaders, officers, civil servants and soldiers of armed units on the island were present at Bach Long Vi District Central Square to attend the New Year's Flag-Salute Ceremony.
Under the red flag with yellow star, cadres, civil servants and soldiers on Bach Long Vi island sang the sacred national anthem in unison.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Dien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bach Long Vi district, expressed his hope that in 2025, the cadres, soldiers and people on the island will continue to promote its potential, position and advantages to turn this place into a fortress to protect our sea and sky in the Gulf of Tonkin, a center for fishing logistics services, developing aquaculture and attracting tourists, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 45 of the Politburo and the instructions of General Secretary To Lam when visiting the island district in 2024.
Talking to the reporter of Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, Lieutenant Colonel Le Viet Dung, Political Commissar of Bach Long Vi Border Guard Station, emotionally shared: “Salute the flag and sing the national anthem under the national flag at Bach Long Vi, the outpost island of the Fatherland on the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year always leaves a special feeling in every officer and soldier of the island district. The army and people of Bach Long Vi Island will make every effort to create new vitality for the island, plant trees, build freshwater reservoirs, protect the environment and biodiversity of the islands, firmly protect the sky and sea of the Fatherland”.
