A new study presented at the annual meeting of the American Dietetic Association said, based on a survey of more than 47,000 nurses over several decades, found a correlation between caffeine in coffee that women (aged 45 to 60) often drink and the ability to slow down the aging process, according to CNA.

Results showed that those who consumed the most caffeine had a strong anti-aging ability - 13% higher than the group who consumed the least caffeine.

In studies on mice, scientists have found that caffeine can improve memory and protect brain cells from damage. Similar studies in humans have also found a link between regular coffee consumption (not decaffeinated) and a reduced risk of Parkinson's disease.

Although coffee is good for your health, you should not abuse it.

According to Dr. Sara Mahdavi, a nutrition scientist at the University of Toronto (Canada) and also the leader of the above study, both regular and decaffeinated coffee contain hundreds of chemical compounds, including many that can reduce inflammation and prevent cell damage.

However, this scientist also warned that although drinking coffee is beneficial for slowing down the aging process, it should not be consumed in excess. Overusing caffeinated drinks will reduce the health benefits, especially when we add sugar or saturated fat to drink regularly.

According to experts, it is best to drink a maximum of 3 cups of coffee per day, the less sweet the better.
