Faced with the complicated situation of drought and saltwater intrusion, affecting people's lives, especially the lack of clean water for daily life; on April 18, officers and soldiers of Soc Trang Provincial Police coordinated with Tran De District Police and Trung Binh Commune Police (Tran De District) to support drinking water and clean water for daily life for people in Mo O Hamlet, Trung Binh Commune, Tran De District.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Huy, Head of the Front Committee of Mo O Hamlet, Tran De District, Soc Trang Province, said: In the locality, there are currently over 170 households lacking drinking water and clean water for many days. In the past few days, people had to go to other places to exchange water for use. Now that there is clean water for drinking and daily use, people are very excited.

Lieutenant Lam Van Thanh, Youth Union of Soc Trang Provincial Police, informed: "Today, we support people with 200 barrels of drinking water, 21 liters/barrel, 100 cartons of bottled water and nearly 20 cubic meters of domestic water. In the coming days, we will continue to support people, so that people do not lack water to use."

Ms. Lam Thi Hoa (54 years old) shared: "People here have been lacking water for a whole month, there is no water to use, it's so miserable. We have to exchange water elsewhere but there is not much, we have to use it sparingly. Many families in the hamlet lack water, bathing and washing are also limited. Now that it is provided for free, people are so happy. Thank you very much to the police officers."

Previously, on the night of April 14, 2024, Soc Trang police officers and soldiers presented 150 barrels of 21-liter mineral water and 150 cartons of bottled water to people affected by drought and saltwater intrusion in Nam Chanh hamlet, Lich Hoi Thuong commune (Tran De district, Soc Trang province). In addition, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Soc Trang province has increased 2 water trucks to support people with a total of 8m3.
