Welcoming Fulham to Old Trafford, MU was determined to win to welcome the new co-owner, British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, who has just completed the purchase of 27.7% of the shares to control the club. Coach Ten Hag faces criticism again after MU loses at home again
Nigerian striker Alex Iwobi beat goalkeeper Andre Onana after a counter-attack that tore through the home side’s defence to give the visitors a 2-1 win. Despite scoring in stoppage time, it was a deserved victory for Fulham and helped Marco Silva’s side secure their place in the Premier League.
On the contrary, with this defeat, the team led by coach Ten Hag still showed inconsistent performance and faced the risk of not qualifying for the Champions League next season. MU remained in 6th place and was widened to 8 points by the 4th-placed team Aston Villa (who beat Nottingham Forest 4-2 in the same match).
