Starting in November, the US tech giant will allow users to build AI agents, releasing 10 bots ready to take on a variety of roles, including supply chain management and customer service.
Consulting firm McKinsey, an early adopter of the prototype, is building an agent to take customer requests by checking interaction history and scheduling follow-up meetings.
According to The Guardian , Microsoft sees AI agents - tools that perform tasks without human intervention - as a prime example of technology helping people improve productivity, and at the same time a measure of efficiency in the commercial economic field.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said the company's new tool will transform software outsourcing, reducing the burden on workers and optimizing costs.
Nadella described the new feature as not requiring users to have programming expertise. Instead, Microsoft will support the newly launched agents with a variety of AI models developed by the corporation and OpenAI.
In addition, Microsoft is developing an AI agent capable of making transactions on behalf of users.
Microsoft's head of AI Mustafa Suleyman said he saw a great demo where AI agents could make purchases independently and is working on fixing bugs for a launch soon.
