According to Taste Atlas , despite its name, "orange cake," this Vietnamese dish does not have any orange flavor in it, because the name is based on the shape of the cake.

Orange cake is made from glutinous rice flour, filled with sweet green bean paste. After being shaped into a ball, the cake is rolled in a layer of sesame seeds and then fried until golden brown.
