My Ly Border Guard Station was flooded up to 1.5m, Na Loi Border Guard Station had nearly 1,000m3 of rock and soil landslide near the command area. Many areas lost power, lost phone signal, and communication was almost paralyzed.
In Nhon Mai commune, although the rain has stopped early this morning, the flood has left very serious consequences. In the area, up to 21 villages are completely isolated. National Highway 16 - the main artery passing through the area - is cut off at many points. In Nhon Mai village alone, 5 houses have been damaged by landslides, 4 houses have been swept away and 6 houses are at high risk of further landslides.
Currently, Nhon Mai Border Guard Station is coordinating with local authorities and forces to help people evacuate to safe places and proactively prevent further risks.
At Nam Can commune, at about 8:15 a.m. on July 23, the Border Guard force coordinated with local authorities to find the body of Ms. Ly Y Dinh (70 years old) swept away by the water.

In Muong Tip commune, provincial road 543D collapsed over 250m, paralyzed traffic, and isolated some villages.

At Tam Quang Border Post, border guards continued to assist in evacuating people as flood waters continued to rise. At Thong Thu Border Post, officers, soldiers and other forces actively encouraged people to leave dangerous areas to prevent landslides and flash floods.
At Keng Du Border Post, the flood swept away an old station house and a guard post, causing total damage estimated at about 310 million VND. The road to Keng Du station is currently severely eroded at 6 locations.
The Border Guard Command of Nghe An province has also established forward working groups to go to key locations to directly direct response, rescue and recovery work. Border guards maintain 24/7 on-duty personnel, ready to help people at any time.
Although the rain has temporarily stopped, the risk of landslides, flash floods and landslides still exists. Nghe An Border Guard units are continuing to closely monitor the situation, coordinating with local authorities to help people stabilize the situation, and avoid being passive or surprised.
