Due to the circulation of storm No. 6, in Quang Binh there is heavy rain causing the water level of Kien Giang River, Gianh River... to rise very quickly, one person while participating in the rescue was swept away by flood water.


According to Dan Viet newspaper, due to the influence of storm No. 6, heavy rain and strong winds occurred in Quang Binh province for many hours.

The leader of the Hydrometeorological Station of Quang Binh province said: "The water level in Kien Giang and Gianh rivers is rising very quickly, in some places above alert level 2 and is forecast to continue to rise."

In Kien Giang town (Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province), Kien Giang river water rose rapidly causing flooding, overflowing into people's houses.

In Le Thuy district (Quang Binh province), many areas have been flooded due to rising water levels, forcing people to quickly move their belongings to higher ground and to safe places to take shelter. Le Thuy district has issued urgent notices to communes and towns about the flood situation and immediately deployed response plans.

People in Le Thuy district (Quang Binh province) had to move their belongings to a safe place.

Mr. Hoang Van Nam (in Kien Giang town, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province) said: "Today it rained heavily, continuously for many hours, my house is near the river so the water flooded into the house. Currently, my family and I are rushing to move our property to higher ground to avoid damage."

Quang Binh Border Guard carries a resident on his back in Kim Thuy commune (Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province), where flooding is occurring, to safety.

"The flood came so quickly that many villages were isolated. Fortunately, local authorities and border guards proactively evacuated people to safety. My family was also severely affected so I had to leave immediately," said Mr. Ho Van Lan (in Kim Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province).

Authorities and the Quang Binh Border Guard moved belongings for people in Kim Thuy commune (Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province).

According to authorities, one person was swept away by floodwaters and went missing while on duty. That person was Le Ngoc Hon (born in 2002, in Thanh Son village, Thai Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province).

Mr. Hon was swept away by the water while performing rescue duties in the downstream area of Thanh Son dam in Thai Thuy commune.

Currently, authorities are assisting in searching and rescuing victims.
