Mudryk is still training on his own. |
According to the Telegraph , Mudryk is taking on the role of personal trainer for his Chelsea teammates, including Romeo Lavia, Marc Cucurella and new signing Jamie Gittens. It is reported that Estevão, another new signing of the "The Blues", also wants Mudryk's help to integrate into the new environment.
Mudryk is currently suspended for possession of a banned substance. If convicted, he will be out of action until 2029, when he will be 28. For a player whose style of play relies heavily on speed and physicality, returning to the top after such a long ban will be a huge challenge.
Football Insider said that if Mudryk is found guilty, Chelsea also have the right to sue the midfielder for financial losses that could amount to more than £50 million.
Chelsea have previously sued Adrian Mutu after he tested positive for a banned substance while playing for the club. Chelsea terminated Mutu's contract in 2004 after he was suspended for seven months. The Blues also sued to recover the £15.8 million fee they paid to Parma.
Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 in a deal worth up to £88.5m. However, since arriving in England, the Ukrainian player has only scored 10 goals in 73 appearances in all competitions.
