TPO - On the morning of July 9, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training informed that candidate Nguyen Manh Duc (class 9A3, Dich Vong Hau Secondary School) passed his first choice to Yen Hoa High School with an admission score of 25.75.

Specifically, the male student's Math test score was 9.25; his English test score was 9.25 and his Literature test score was 7.25. This year, Yen Hoa High School has a standard score of 25, ranking second after Kim Lien High School and Le Quy Don High School (Ha Dong).

Manh Duc is known to many people in the recent 2025 Hanoi 10th grade entrance exam as a special candidate who had to bring his little sister along when taking the exam. His mother had to work a shift and had not returned in time, so the male student left his little sister with the volunteers at the exam site gate to look after her so he could get to the exam room on time.

Sharing with the press, Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, Principal of Dich Vong Hau Secondary School, said that Manh Duc is a student with special circumstances. He was born in 2006 but due to difficult family circumstances, he had to stop studying in the middle of the 8th grade.

When I returned to school, I was diligent, hardworking and achieved excellent results in both final two years of high school and was a member of the school's Math team.

The result of passing the first choice to Yen Hoa High School, a top public school in Hanoi, has proven the male student's persistent efforts.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, nearly 103,000 candidates took the 10th grade entrance exam, of which 12 candidates had health problems and needed medical assistance during the exam.

In particular, candidate Nguyen Kim Giang, who had to have an appendectomy right before the exam but still endured the pain and tried to take the exam, was admitted to her first choice, Phung Khac Khoan High School (Thach That).
