Journalistic ethics are becoming increasingly important as society faces the rapid spread of fake news and misinformation through social media. In this context, journalists have a responsibility to ensure that the information provided is reliable and valuable.

In the market mechanism, our country's press has been facing some limitations related to the professional ethics of some journalists. They may be affected by pressure from economic interests, affecting the honesty and objectivity of the information they provide.

We understand that in a highly competitive environment, the need to deliver news quickly puts pressure on journalists. Some newspapers or online news sites may use catchy headlines and controversial content to attract attention and increase traffic. This can lead to inaccurate or inconsistent reporting.

Therefore, to build an ethical and healthy press, enhancing the social responsibility of journalists is extremely important. To achieve that, journalists need to adhere to professional ethics, not be biased or influenced by pressure, and not “distort” the content.

Journalism ethics require honesty and transparency in handling information, avoiding insults or distortions of the truth. Journalists need to ensure that the information they provide is accurate, verifiable and not influenced by personal or group interests, and respect the right to privacy.

Journalists need to provide multi-dimensional information, ensuring that different viewpoints are fairly reflected. They must verify information before publishing it and are responsible for its accuracy.

At the same time, journalists need to avoid discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, class, etc. They need to build a relationship of trust and positive interaction with the public, and need to continuously improve their knowledge and skills to be able to meet the requirements of the digital media era.

Ethical journalism will help promote transparency, fairness and the common good, and help check power and prevent its abuse. Therefore, the importance of journalistic ethics must be respected and promoted in today's society.

To improve the capacity of journalists and address the commercialization, clickbait and sensational reporting of some newspapers in our country, press organizations and management agencies need to promote compliance and enforcement of professional ethics. At the same time, strictly handle violations, train and support journalists to improve their awareness and knowledge of ethics when working.
