Traditional pottery making plays an important role in the economic, cultural and social life of the Cham people. Pottery is an indispensable item in the daily life of each family and in the cultural beliefs of the Cham community. In Binh Thuan today, only the Cham people in Binh Duc village, Phan Hiep commune, Bac Binh district still make pottery with the traditional techniques and manual processes of their ancestors.
The entire pottery making process of the Cham people exudes a unique artistic value. Under the talented hands of the grandmothers, mothers, and sisters, the pottery products have a very unique beauty, imbued with the culture and beliefs of the Cham people, but are also very rustic and simple, like the upright, honest, and simple nature of the people here.
Although pursuing and developing traditional crafts in today's era is a challenge. Because most traditional products serve the needs of a certain number of customers or the purpose of sightseeing and tourism . However, the ethnic minority people born and raised in the craft village in Phan Hiep commune always keep in mind that preserving the "fire of the profession" is both a responsibility and a source of pride for them.
