35AWARDS is a major international photography award founded in 2015 by the creators of the professional photography community 35photo.pro. The first edition saw 36,000 entries from 110 countries, and this year saw over 124,000 entries from 174 countries, with over 470,000 photos submitted.

The award places special emphasis on a three-stage voting system, in which the selection criteria are tightened at each stage. Thanks to this system, the organizers can handle a large number of submitted works and the voting process is increasingly objective.

The aim of the awards is to find the 100 best works of the year in various categories. The award categories include: Aerial photography, black and white photography, landscape photography, children's photography, mobile photography, wildlife photography , etc.

Notably, Vietnamese photographers participated in the aerial photography category. Below are the photos of photographers Nguyen Minh Tu and Bui Van Hai in the top 100 best photos of the aerial photography category of the 35AWARDS 2024 award.

On the solar field

The field of reeds is located next to Vo Chi Cong Street (Road 129) connecting Hoi An to Chu Lai Airport in Phuoc An Village, Binh Hai Commune, Thang Binh District, Quang Nam Province. This is a field of reeds located next to the Truong Giang River, attracting many Vietnamese and international photographers to create photos because of the peaceful and beautiful scenery. It is known that the photo of the reeds field was selected to be printed in a book and exhibited after the award.

"I took this picture on an afternoon in late June 2023. The vast green grass and the wavy lines made a strong impression. But the most beautiful thing is the carrying pole, the buffalo, and the conical hat, all delicately arranged to evoke a familiar image of the beloved Vietnamese countryside. I feel very happy and honored to have contributed a small part in bringing beautiful images of my homeland to international friends," said Mr. Hai.

Heart of the Sea

From mid-April onwards is the anchovy season in Hon Yen, Phu Yen . The nets are cast into poetic shapes, like leaves, hearts...

The Hon Yen purse seine season starts from April to August, which is also the anchovy season. Anchovies have bodies as small as toothpicks, are transparent white, and are a specialty of the sea. The characteristic of fishing in Hon Yen is that people often have to use nets with small meshes to catch anchovies. When discovering a school of anchovies at a depth of about 30 - 40m, fishermen start to cast their nets, let their boats run in circles to surround the fish, this technique is called purse seine fishing by the people. When the nets are completely cast into the sea, they will be huge in size, and each time the boat is pulled up, the nets will form different shapes, extremely interesting.

Afternoon on the sheep field

The photo shows a Cham girl herding sheep home in the brilliant sunset. The scene gives viewers the feeling of being in a faraway land, not in Vietnam but in Ninh Thuan. Ninh Thuan is home to the largest sheep herd in the country, with about 160,000 sheep, grazed by people in hilly areas in Ninh Son, Bac Ai, Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai, Thuan Nam and Thuan Bac districts. In particular, the Dong Day grassland area, Phuoc Trung commune, Bac Ai district is considered the sheep breeding headquarters of Ninh Thuan province.

Bình minh suối Tía

Tia stream dawn

Suoi Tia is considered the "paradise" of Da Lat, little known to tourists because it is located at the source of Tuyen Lam Lake, making it difficult to travel.

Suoi Tia attracts tourists with its flooded forest in the early morning mist. The flooded tea tree forest at this branch of the lake is a "masterpiece" composition spot for many photographers. In autumn or winter, the tea tree rows shed all their leaves, leaving only the ivory-white dry branches, looking from above like poetic white snow trees.
