On the morning of June 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street Company jointly organized the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Cultural Festival 2025 with the theme Ao Dai in Gratitude, and opened a photography exhibition of Ao Dai moments - Saigon past and present.
The exhibition displays 100 works by 20 photographers, recreating the journey of Ao Dai through the ages from 1975 to the present. Visitors can interact via Art TV to discover the author's profile and the story behind each photo.
According to the organizers, with the theme of Ao Dai in Gratitude, Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Cultural Festival 2025 sends a message of gratitude to those who have been preserving and promoting the cultural value of Ao Dai, from hard-working embroidery artisans, creative designers to journalists and photographers who have recorded the cultural journey through each frame and article.

The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Cultural Festival hopes to awaken the feeling of gratitude in each person through the image of Ao Dai, arousing awareness of preserving and promoting the unique cultural values that have shaped the Vietnamese identity.
Ms. Anna Hanh Le - Acting President of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Cultural Festival 2025 - said:
"Throughout the long journey of national history, the ao dai is not only a costume but also a living heritage, crystallized from the culture, soul, intelligence and emotions of the Vietnamese people. That ao dai has accompanied Vietnamese women through war and peace , from simple thatched roofs to international wedding halls.
In the new era, the Ao Dai not only preserves the beauty of traditional culture but also shines as a symbol of development and integration.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Cultural Festival honors this heritage, while promoting the image of a dynamic, open Ho Chi Minh City, a place that cherishes historical values and strives towards a bright future."

The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Cultural Festival took place on June 21 and 22 at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street with a variety of activities for the public and visitors to experience, notably the photography exhibition Ao Dai Moments - Saigon past and present; discussion on the Art of Photography with Ao Dai; discussion on Developing tours to explore the culture of wearing in Ho Chi Minh City.
The highlight of the event is the Ao Dai Gala Night at the Youth Cultural House at 6pm on June 28. The event also has many activities lasting until October 20.
