Today (September 26), Phu My Town Police (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) said they are verifying and investigating the case of a woman who was scammed out of more than 600 million VND through the social network Facebook.

According to the report, at around 10:00 a.m. on September 3, Ms. HTH (41 years old, residing in Hac Dich ward, Phu My town) went on Facebook to order cosmetics for use.

While searching for the product, Ms. H. accessed an advertising link of the Mailisa – Doctor Magic cosmetic company and asked to buy it, then a Facebook account named “My Duyen” became a friend.

After agreeing, Ms. H. was guided and introduced by "My Duyen" to be friends with a Facebook account named "Nguyen Thi Minh Hien".

During the conversation, “Nguyen Thi Minh Hien” introduced herself as the “general director” of the above cosmetic company and sent some product experience participation forms for Ms. H. to see.

Next, “Nguyen Thi Minh Hien” suggested that with these coupons, if Ms. H. experienced the product, she would receive a big promotion and a generous commission. However, Ms. H. had to pay before participating.

Believing the invitation, Ms. H. agreed and transferred many times a total of more than 567 million VND to "Nguyen Thi Minh Hien" into an account named Mailisa Production, Trade and Service Company Limited, opened at a joint stock commercial bank.

After Ms. H. transferred the money, “Nguyen Thi Minh Hien” informed her that the amount she would receive was more than 696 million VND. If she wanted to withdraw it, Ms. H. had to meet the company accountant to pay a fee of 10% of the amount she would receive.

Then, "Nguyen Thi Minh Hien" introduced Ms. H. to be friends with a person with the Facebook name "Tran Thi Kim Thoa" to pay money and receive commissions and promotions.

Following the instructions, Ms. H. transferred more than 69 million VND. However, after sending the money, Ms. H. continued to receive requests to pay many other fees.
