DNVN - On the morning of June 11, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) officially put the Self-bag drop system into operation at the T2 international terminal of Da Nang airport.

Starlux Airlines (Taiwan, China) is the first airline to integrate the Self Bag Drop system at T2 international terminal of Da Nang airport into its check-in process, providing passengers with an automatic baggage check-in service. The first two flights using this system are JX702 STD at 9:45 and JX328 STD.

Starlux Airlines staff instruct passengers on how to use the automatic baggage check-in system.

Da Nang Airport is also the third place (after Taipei, Taiwan and Fukuoka, Japan) where Starlux Airlines uses the Self Bag Drop system to provide automatic baggage check-in service for passengers.
The self-check-in baggage counter at T2 international terminal of Da Nang airport allows passengers to check in their baggage quickly and conveniently, shortening the check-in time by 15 - 20 minutes.

Passengers can easily print out the tags on the touch screen, then stick them on their luggage and place them on the conveyor belt. The system will automatically transport the luggage to the security control area and transfer it to the plane. In addition, the PAT (Passenger Assistant Team) will always be present around the self-check-in area to assist passengers throughout the check-in process.

Previously, Terminal T2 also put into operation a self-check-in kiosk system, autogate, and self-boarding gates. The integration of the self-bag drop system allows passengers to use fully automated services from check-in, baggage check-in, immigration, and boarding. Thereby, the check-in process is significantly shortened, the terminal's service efficiency during peak hours is also improved, ensuring smooth traffic flow.

“Currently, Starlux Airlines brings more than 9,000 passengers from Taiwan to Da Nang every month. Starlux Airlines focuses on customer experience, so the new automated services put into operation at Terminal T2 are very suitable and convenient, increasing the prospect of bringing more passengers from Taiwan to Da Nang!”, said Mr. Elvis Chao - Chief Representative of Starlux Airlines in Da Nang.

Currently, AHT is cooperating with FPT Technology Group to develop Terminal T2 of Da Nang Airport to become the first smart airport terminal in Vietnam. In April 2024, in Frankfurt (Germany), this terminal received a 5-star rating certificate from the Skytrax Aviation Rating and Rating Organization. This is also the first and only international standard 5-star terminal in Vietnam today.
