“Frog Ramen,” the latest menu item from Taiwanese ramen shop Yuan Ramen, has recently gone viral on social media because of its giant frog on top. The Yunlin-based restaurant recently posted photos of the strange dish, asking customers to suggest names for it on social media. The restaurant also announced that the frog ramen will be served on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, in very limited quantities, for NT$250 (about VND 7.4 million) per bowl. But if you just want to go in and take a photo of the frog ramen, you can do so for just NT$100 (about VND 3.4 million).

Yuan Ramen's owners told Taiwan News that they were inspired by the isopod ramen that went viral on social media last month. Since eating frogs is quite common in Yunlin, they decided to make their own ramen to give it a local twist.

On social media, Yuan Ramen revealed that their frog ramen includes the store's traditional fish soup, traditional ramen noodles, clams, and a 200g "uncut, unskinned" frog sprinkled with green onions.

In fact, some brave diners have tried the frog ramen and really liked it, but the restaurant will decide whether to make it a permanent menu item after receiving more feedback.

Previously, a restaurant in Malaysia also created a new ramen dish from a unique ingredient: durian.
