In a statement issued on July 29, Lufthansa (Germany) has suspended flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut until July 30. Governments of many countries such as the US, Norway, Ireland, etc. have also called on their citizens to leave Lebanon amid concerns of escalating conflict between the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon and Israel after the attack on the Golan Heights on July 27.

Lufthansa said five flights by its group airlines Swiss International Air Lines, Eurowings and Lufthansa have been suspended out of an abundance of caution.

Meanwhile, at Beirut airport, Middle East Airlines (MEA), Turkish Airlines, SunExpress, Aegean Airline, Ethiopian Air... had to adjust and postpone flight schedules to prevent insurance risks when tensions escalated between Israel and the armed group Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Earlier, on July 28, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati called for a comprehensive ceasefire in the southern region of the country and full implementation of United Nations (UN) Resolution 1701 to avoid an escalation of the situation. On social network X, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib called for an international investigation into the rocket attack that killed 12 people, including children, in the village of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights and warned of widespread retaliation.

Israel's security cabinet has authorized the government to respond to the attack, which it blames on Hezbollah. Hezbollah, for its part, has denied any involvement in the attack.
