As the registration deadline is approaching, many universities training in the field of education have announced adjustments to their enrollment quotas compared to previous announcements. Parents and candidates need to follow the information to place appropriate applications.
Saigon University has just announced the latest adjustment signed on July 26 with many changes. Accordingly, 12/15 majors have changed their quotas. The total number of quotas has been adjusted from 990 to 769, a decrease of 221 quotas. Many majors have reduced their quotas by up to 50% such as: Physics Pedagogy, Biology Pedagogy, History Pedagogy, Geography Pedagogy.

Although it was lower than the old quota, if calculated according to the adjustment on July 17, the quota and the number of training majors had increased significantly. At that time, Saigon University was only assigned 371 pedagogical training quotas for 9 training majors.
The new adjustment on July 26 will open up more admission opportunities for candidates.
The school said that the adjustment of the quota was made according to Notice No. 3845/BGDĐT-GDĐH dated July 26 on adjusting the expected quota for teacher training majors in 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
The highest minimum score for admission to the school in the teacher training group is the mathematics pedagogy major, which accepts applications from 24.5 points. This is the major with the highest minimum score in the country at present.
Next is the English pedagogy major that accepts applications from 23 points; the remaining majors follow the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training . Non-pedagogy majors from 16-21.
In mid-June, the Ministry of Education and Training also sent a dispatch to schools announcing the expected number of quotas for teacher training programs in 2024. This led to many schools having to issue notices to adjust their quotas.
Notably, Quy Nhon University has informed candidates about adjusting their early admission wishes for the chemistry pedagogy major. Specifically, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Education and Training, Quy Nhon University does not have training quotas for this major.
Therefore, candidates who register for the chemistry education major should adjust their wishes to another major in the school system.
Hanoi National University of Education 2 is one of the teacher training schools that has reduced its enrollment quota compared to the initial self-determined quota. Specifically, the total enrollment quota for the school's pedagogical majors announced in the 2024 enrollment plan is 2,307 and 72 expected enrollment quotas for geography pedagogy (a major that is waiting for the Ministry of Education and Training to grant a training license).

However, on July 2, the school announced a revised plan to sharply reduce enrollment quotas, with some majors reducing enrollment quotas by up to 90%, such as: Physics Education (from 244 to 20 quotas), National Defense and Security Education (from 234 to 28 quotas), History Education (from 165 to 31 quotas)...
After receiving the document assigning enrollment quotas from the Ministry of Education and Training , Can Tho University also announced to adjust the enrollment quotas for 15 majors, from the initial 1,090 quotas down to 624 quotas.

According to this adjustment, some majors have sharply reduced quotas such as preschool education (from 70 to 20 quotas), mathematics pedagogy (from 100 to 31 quotas), physics, chemistry, biology, history, and French pedagogy all reduced by 40 quotas (from 60 to 20 quotas).
Notably, even the teacher training sector for new subjects in the 2018 General Education Program such as natural science pedagogy also reduced its quota from 60 to 20.
At Hanoi Pedagogical University , the quota assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training is also lower than the school proposed.
The University of Education (Thai Nguyen University) announced to adjust the enrollment quota compared to the previous plan. Many majors have their quotas reduced by half compared to the plan such as: Chemistry Education (from 50 to 25 quotas), Political Education (from 40 to 20 quotas), Physics Education (from 40 to 20 quotas)...
On the contrary, some sectors have increased quotas such as: preschool education, primary education, information technology pedagogy, English pedagogy, mathematics pedagogy, etc.
The reduction in training quotas will have a direct impact on the benchmark scores for admission methods to pedagogical majors. It is predicted that the benchmark scores for admission to pedagogical colleges based on high school graduation exam results will continue to be high.
