VTC NewsVTC News15/03/2025

This year, with an SAT score of 1,000, students can apply for combined admission or direct admission to many top universities.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology expects the SAT score (combined with a foreign language certificate) to be no lower than 1,250 for all majors (although the school does not specify the application requirements). Note that candidates who intend to apply using the SAT certificate must have an average score of 8.0 or higher for 3 years of high school.

Banking Academy continues to consider international certificates. Candidates applying through this method must have excellent academic performance in grade 12, an average score of 8 or higher in three years of high school for each subject in the group, and have a SAT certificate of 1,200, IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT of 72 or higher.

University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) accepts applications with SAT certificates from 1,100 or higher.

Meanwhile, the National Economics University will keep the SAT score requirement unchanged as in 2024 at 1,200. However, the admission score to the school by this method last year was no lower than 1,300 in all majors.

SAT score requirements of some universities in Hanoi are as follows:

STT School Minimum SAT score Method of review
1 Hanoi University of Science and Technology 1,250 International Certificate
2 University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) 1,100 International Certificate
3 National Economics University 1,200 Combined admission
4 Foreign Trade University 1,380 Combined admission
5 Vietnam Academy of Agriculture 1,200 Combined admission
6 Hanoi University of Civil Engineering 1,200 Direct admission
7 Academy of Journalism and Communication 1,200 Combined admission

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test or Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized aptitude test widely used for college admissions in the US education system and recognized by many famous universities around the world.

The test consists of Math, Language and Reading. The maximum score is 1600. Only 1% of test takers worldwide achieve this score.

According to data from the College Board (the SAT testing unit), the number of Vietnamese candidates taking the SAT has increased sharply in the past two years. This is related to the fact that more and more universities in Vietnam are using the results of this standardized test in their admissions.
