Funkindustry, a six-piece band from Strasbourg, made a splash in Asia with Do it - a song that became a classic in the locking scene (a style of funk dance and street dance), a form of funk choreography very close to hip-hop.

This success has brought the group's career to new heights since its formation in 2014, especially in Japan.

Inspired by funk legends like James Brown, Jamiroquai and contemporary names like Tuxedo and L'Impératrice, Funkindustry skillfully blends Japanese City pop, R'n'B and funk, the group's music is a blend of festival music and dance music, filled with groove and funk.

Through songs with themes of love and nostalgia or works imbued with City pop - an accessible yet sophisticated music genre that emerged in the 1980s, Funkindustry stirs up large and small stages and spreads a positive energy field.

Before their first album Let's do it again , Funkindustry released a colorful mini-album (EP) called Step & Stains , inviting audiences to an irresistible musical feast.

Funkindustry's fun and catchy music style with a strong funk and R'n'B feel fits perfectly with the music trends that have been popular in Japan in recent years.

In 2021, the group released five digital singles on the Friendship platform in Japan, including Gimme All You Got and Suddenly .

Notably, the song Suddenly featuring Jua - a French rapper of Japanese origin, entered 7 Japanese playlists, including 2 prestigious and influential playlists: Tokyo Rising by Spotify and R&B New Releases by Apple Music.

In 2022, Funkindustry continued to collaborate with Japanese artists and released remix EPs of famous beatmakers such as Orlando, Miida, or The Department and the single Another one, attracting over 100,000 streams on Spotify, mainly from Japan and Asia.

Then, in 2023, the EP Midnight City Lovers , a collaboration with Japanese female singers with a City Pop sound, was released. That same year, the group also went on a successful tour with 9 shows in Japan, many of which sold out in iconic cities such as Osaka and Shibuya.

As part of this Asian tour (Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam and Taiwan-China), Funkindustry will have two performances at the Café des stagiaires stage in Ho Chi Minh City (October 18) and Hanoi rock city in Hanoi (October 19).
