According to PhoneArena , information from member @NaveenTechWala on X shows that the A17 Bionic chip has achieved a single-core score of 3,269 and a multi-core score of 7,666 on Geekbench. This number is superior to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip for Galaxy (which will be provided on the Galaxy S24+) manufactured on the 4nm process when it only achieved a score of 2,223 and 6,661 for single-core and multi-core respectively.
iPhone 15 Pro performance will be superior thanks to A17 Bionic chip
This means the A17 Bionic scores 47% higher in single-core tests and 15.1% higher in multi-core tests. The A17 Bionic is the chip that Apple will equip the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models, while the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will be equipped with the 4nm A16 Bionic chip that is currently used in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models.
Compared to the A16 Bionic's Geekbench scores of 2,531 (single-core) and 6,460 (multi-core), the A17 Bionic scores 29 percent higher in single-core and 19 percent higher in multi-core. According to the X post, the A17 Bionic's maximum clock speed is 3.7 GHz, which is in line with previous leaks about the chip's specs.
The A17 Bionic also scored 30,669 in the Compute Benchmark Score test, which is higher than the 23,000 achieved by the iPhone 14 Pro with the A16 Bionic chip. This test measures GPU performance by simulating how the GPU performs typical tasks such as image processing, computer vision, and machine learning.
The A16 Bionic is a 4nm chip with 16 billion transistors. With the A17 Bionic using a 3nm process, it means they use smaller transistors, thus increasing the number of transistors on the chip. This not only makes it more powerful but also more energy efficient.
