According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of cold air strengthening combined with strong currents in the high-altitude westerly wind zone, there is a possibility of ice and snow in some places in the high mountainous areas of our country.

According to weather forecasts, experts say that there is a high possibility of snow on February 8 during this cold spell. Some places where snow may fall are Fansipan (Lao Cai); Dong Van, Meo Vac (Ha Giang) and some mountainous districts of Yen Bai province.

In January, there were 3 cold air waves that swept down to the North. Of which, the wave on January 26 caused temperatures in many places to drop below 5 degrees Celsius, such as Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Dong Van ( Ha Giang ), causing snow to appear.

If the temperature in Hanoi drops to 6-7 degrees Celsius, the mountainous areas in the North may have snow when the temperature is around 0 degrees Celsius. In Vietnam, snow usually falls for a very short time, sometimes only a few hours a day. Therefore, hunting for snow often requires luck. Tourists should see the snow announcement before coming, otherwise they will have to stay for a few days in places where there may be snow during cold spells.

When hunting for snow, visitors should have enough warm clothes, indispensable items are hats, socks and scarves. Clothing includes many layers: moisture-proof layer, thermal layer, insulation layer and windproof layer (rainproof). You should wear tight pants inside to help keep warm better.
