This morning (December 2), at Ba Mau Lake area ( Hanoi ), Vietnam Railway Corporation coordinated with Dong Da District People's Committee to organize a ceremony to respond to the movement "Train Road - Flower Road".
The report of Vietnam Railway Corporation at the ceremony said that the "Train Road - Flower Road" movement was launched by the corporation in March 2023 with the motto "Each route, one flower - Each station, one destination" in 34 provinces and cities with railways passing through.
The movement was built to respond to the "One Billion Trees" planting program being implemented in provinces and cities across the country; at the same time, it contributes to raising awareness and responsibility of the community in the management, protection, beautification of the landscape and sustainable development of the ecological environment along the railway.
Railway units and localities signed to hand over the care of the railway and flower road through the area.
In nearly 2 years of implementation, with more than 100 launching ceremonies, the movement has brought practical results in improving the environment; has had an influence and spread to society, widely calling for organizations and individuals inside and outside the industry to participate in contributing to the development of regional tourism , attracting international tourists to Vietnam.
In Hanoi, the section from Km1+180 to Km1+800 of the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line was selected to carry out the movement. This section is parallel to Le Duan - Giai Phong street, one of the gateways to the capital, with an open space, one side adjacent to Le Duan street, the other side is Ba Mau lake area in Phuong Lien ward, Trung Phung ward, Dong Da district.
On the railway corridor adjacent to Le Duan Street, build 520m of flower beds to plant five-color flowers. In the inner corridor near the lake area, plant 116 additional yellow trumpet vine trees, 90 wallflower trees, and also Thai hibiscus trees.
Leaders of Dong Da District People's Committee, leaders of Vietnam Railway Corporation, and traffic police force planted trees in response.
After organizing the flower planting, Vietnam Railway Corporation will hand over to Dong Da District People's Committee to hand over to Hanoi Green Parks and Trees Company Limited for maintenance and care in the following years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of the Corporation, emphasized that Hanoi is the starting point of the national railway lines, and is a locality with a railway line running through the city center. Therefore, the construction and protection of the urban landscape environment between the railway and the road is very necessary.

When the flower planting in this area is completed, it will create a beautiful and civilized 500m inner-city road, contributing to the journey of building the longest flower road in Vietnam.
"The formation of the flower road is difficult, maintaining and taking care of it is many times more difficult. The railway industry will always stand side by side with the local government and mass organizations to propagate, mobilize, and call on organizations and forces to actively care for and protect plants and ornamental flowers, and commit to not discharging waste onto the railway, thereby preserving the common environmental landscape of the city green - clean - beautiful," said Mr. Tuan.
