On March 7, the Vietnamese forces participating in the United Nations peacekeeping operations at the UNISFA mission (Abyei region, Africa) organized a meeting and exchange between Vietnamese female soldiers, female representatives of agencies and units working at the mission as well as local women representatives on the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8.

Colonel Nguyen Viet Hung - Commander of the Vietnamese forces participating in the United Nations peacekeeping operations at the UNISFA mission, and leader of the Engineering Team - sent his best wishes to the women living and working in Abyei.

At the meeting, Vietnamese female soldiers discussed with female representatives of agencies and units under the mission plans to support local women in health and education .

Ms. Aluel Achuel Kiir - Minister of Social Welfare, representing local women - sent thanks to Vietnamese soldiers for supporting local people, especially women and children through many volunteer activities.

Activities such as free medical examination and treatment, guiding people in farming , providing clean water, repairing and building new classrooms, showing cartoons to children, giving food and stationery... by the "blue beret" soldiers have contributed significantly to improving the lives of the people here.

At noon of the same day, the Women's Association of the Vietnam Engineer Corps also visited and gave colostrum gifts to mothers at Abyei Hospital.

In Abyei, most children suffer from malnutrition due to the underdeveloped health system, harsh environment, and difficult living conditions. Therefore, giving colostrum to mothers helps to strengthen the immune system of newborns, reduce inflammation, and support better digestive system function.

The leaders of Abyei Hospital sent best wishes to Vietnamese women in general and Vietnamese female soldiers working in Abyei in particular on International Women's Day, March 8.

At the same time, he expressed his emotion at the activities of the Vietnamese peacekeeping force to support people such as repairing roads to hospitals, giving antibiotics and especially giving colostrum to mothers.
