German technology giant invests more than 150 million euros in R&B center in Ho Chi Minh City

(NLDO)- SAP Labs Vietnam is headquartered in the center of Ho Chi Minh City and is the second center in Southeast Asia (after Singapore).

On August 7, in Ho Chi Minh City, SAP - a German multinational technology company specializing in providing software and services related to business management, announced the establishment of the SAP Labs Vietnam research and development center, with a plan to invest more than 150 million euros (equivalent to more than 4,500 billion VND) in the next 5 years.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung; Ms. Helga Margarete Bath, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam; and representatives of leaders of a number of ministries, departments, branches and localities.

SAP Labs Vietnam is headquartered in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City and is the second center in Southeast Asia (after Singapore).

According to SAP, Vietnam is one of 20 countries worldwide where SAP has invested in R&D centers, clearly demonstrating SAP's long-term investment commitment in the Asia- Pacific region, making Vietnam a leading dynamic technology market in the region.

Through SAP Labs Vietnam, this center not only aims to develop software that meets international standards but also wants to support local businesses and communities to thrive in the global digital environment.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung attended the ceremony to announce the establishment of SAP Labs Vietnam.

Specifically, this new center will play an important role in supporting SAP's product development, especially in core areas such as sustainable digital supply chains and AI-integrated intelligent enterprise solutions.

Previously, since September 2024, SAP Labs Vietnam has recruited more than 200 employees and is expected to expand to 500 employees by 2027, of which 350 more will be recruited in 2025 alone.

In addition to searching for senior personnel, the company is also working closely with leading universities in Ho Chi Minh City to nurture young technology talents, while opening up career development paths in advanced fields such as data analytics, AI and software engineering.

“Vietnam's rapid digital transformation and young, tech-savvy workforce have made Vietnam an important pillar in SAP's global vision of long-term growth coupled with comprehensive innovation,” said Viet Nguyen, General Director of SAP Vietnam.
