Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung has just signed a decision to appoint leaders of press agencies under the Ministry; in which, Mr. Nguyen Van Ba holds the position of Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper.

At the ceremony to announce the decisions to reorganize the press agencies under the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions this afternoon, Mr. Ha Xuan Tung, Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, said: On June 20, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung signed 6 decisions on personnel work.

Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung presented the decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Ba as Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper.

Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - Ministry of Science and Technology, was appointed to hold the position of Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Mr. Le Cong Binh, Editor-in-Chief of Ethnic and Development Newspaper, was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Ethnic and Religious Studies Journal.

Ms. Bui Thi Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ethnic and Development Newspaper, was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Ms. Hoang Thi Bao Huong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - Ministry of Science and Technology, was appointed to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ethnic and Development Newspaper, was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Mr. Le The Vinh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - Ministry of Science and Technology, was appointed to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung and Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung congratulated the newly appointed leaders of the press agencies under the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Implementing Decree No. 114 of the Government on amending Clause 12, Article 3 of Decree No. 41, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology to develop and implement a plan to transfer VietNamNet Newspaper from the Ministry of Science and Technology to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions for management; develop a plan to merge and perfect the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of VietNamNet Newspaper on the basis of merging VietNamNet Newspaper and Ethnic Minorities and Development Newspaper.

VietNamNet Newspaper under the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions after the merger is a public service unit, the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; has the function of propagating and disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on ethnic affairs, beliefs and religions; information on political, economic, cultural and social life at home and abroad.

The newspaper plays a bridging role between the Party, the State and ethnic minorities, religious organizations and the people, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc.

After the merger, VietNamNet Newspaper will have the following types and press products: VietNamNet Electronic Newspaper; Ethnicity and Development Special Page of VietNamNet Electronic Newspaper; Ethnicity and Development Printed Newspaper; Ethnicity and Development Publication at the end of the month.

The organizational structure of the Newspaper after the merger is expected to have 16 affiliated units, reducing 9 affiliated units of the 2 units before the merger (achieving a reduction rate of 33.3%), with a total of 246 employees.
