On the afternoon of July 24, Mr. Park Hang Seo drove from his home (in the capital Seoul) to the training ground of Suwon Club (nearly 40km from Seoul) to visit Nam Dinh team. The reigning V-League champion went to Korea to train in Incheon from July 22 and had a friendly match with a K-League representative on the same afternoon.
Meeting his former colleagues and students, Mr. Park Hang Seo kindly asked about each person. He was also thoughtful when preparing some gifts in advance to encourage the players.
Nguyen Van Toan, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Nguyen Phong Hong Duy, To Van Vu, Duong Thanh Hao and Tran Van Kien all expressed their joy and gratitude when coach Park asked about their health and injury situation. They all worked with coach Park when the Korean strategist led the Vietnamese team from 2017 to 2022.
Upon hearing the news that head coach Vu Hong Viet had just gotten married, Mr. Park also sent his congratulations to this young strategist. Before leading Nam Dinh Club, Mr. Viet was also an assistant to coach Park in the Vietnam national team.
At this time, Mr. Park Hang Seo is temporarily putting aside his advisory role for Bac Ninh Club to return home to handle work at KFA. He is currently the vice president of KFA in charge of the Korean national team for the 2025-2028 term.
Due to time constraints, Mr. Park only watched the friendly match of Nam Dinh Club and then left. He made an appointment to have dinner with Nam Dinh Club next time when the team went to Seoul for a tour in a few days.
Nam Dinh Club beat K-League representative
In the friendly match this afternoon, July 24, Nam Dinh FC defeated Suwon 2-1 thanks to goals from Tran Van Kien and rookie Kyle Hudlin. Although busy with the K-League, Suwon still sent their first team to play against the team from Thanh Nam.
