Mr. Tran Hong Minh holds the position of Minister of Transport.

On the afternoon of November 28, at the 8th Session , with 452/452 delegates participating in the vote in favor (equal to 94.36% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), the National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Tran Hong Minh as Minister of Transport.

This Resolution takes effect from the date the National Assembly votes to pass it.

Mr. Tran Hong Minh succeeded Mr. Nguyen Van Thang as Commander of the Transport sector.

Previously, also on November 28, the National Assembly passed a resolution approving the Prime Minister 's proposal to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Van Thang from the position of Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term with a high approval rate.

Mr. Tran Hong Minh was born on November 4, 1967, in An My commune, My Duc district, Hanoi city. He has a high level of political theory and a professional degree of Doctor of Engineering.

He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

During his career, Mr. Tran Hong Minh has held the following positions: Commander, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Engineering Corps; Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Military Region 1; Commander of Military Region 1, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Military Region 1.

From January 2021 to September 2021, he was a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission (June 2021), Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Department of Defense Industry, Lieutenant General, Director of the General Department of Defense Industry; a delegate of the 15th National Assembly (July 2021).

From September 2021 until the time of his appointment as Minister of Transport, he was a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.
