Pakistan reaffirms strengthening comprehensive cooperation with ASEAN

On July 25, the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) held an important meeting with the participation of Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister of Pakistan Amna Baloch, Director General for Asia-Pacific, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui and Ambassadors of ACI member countries.

The meeting focused on assessing the outstanding results during Myanmar's Chairmanship term, recognizing the practical contributions of member countries in enhancing the image and position of ASEAN in Pakistan, while strengthening the friendship and sustainable cooperation between Pakistan and ASEAN countries.

During the discussion, the Ambassadors actively discussed the plan for the upcoming ASEAN Day event, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation and exchanges between ASEAN countries and Pakistan through practical and effective activities. In addition, the representatives also focused on discussing key issues related to developing multilateral relations, promoting regional integration and enhancing economic and cultural connectivity between ASEAN members and Pakistan.

Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed Pakistan's strong commitment to promoting multilateral relations and diversifying cooperation in many fields with ASEAN countries, emphasizing the important role of ASEAN as a leading strategic partner of Pakistan in the Asia- Pacific region and expressing his desire to continue promoting economic, cultural and political connectivity between ASEAN and Pakistan to create an environment of peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister also appreciated ACI's proactiveness and effectiveness in organizing cooperation activities, especially the upcoming ASEAN Day, considering this an important opportunity to enhance exchanges and mutual understanding between ASEAN and Pakistan.

Pakistan looks forward to further strengthening economic, cultural and political connectivity with ASEAN.

The meeting ended successfully with the handover ceremony of the ACI Chairmanship to the Thai Ambassador, along with congratulations and confidence that the new term will strongly promote the spirit of solidarity and cooperation between ACI members and Pakistani partners, contributing to deepening the friendly relations and sustainable development between the two sides.
