Promoting the strengths of culture when 'coming home together'

From July 1, 2025, the new Dong Nai province will officially come into operation based on the merger of Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces. This is an important step in the strategy of restructuring the development space of the Southeast region, opening up many expectations for a breakthrough in socio-economic development. In particular, the cultural sector with its similarities and rich potential promises to become an important spiritual foundation and driving force to promote sustainable development for the new Dong Nai province.

Both Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc possess a rich system of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, from historical relics of the resistance war such as: War Zone D, Ta Thiet Base, Tan Hiep Prison..., to folk festivals and cultural traditions of ethnic minorities. These are precious values, the fulcrum for forming a unique identity for the new Dong Nai province - a land that converges and spreads diverse cultural values.

In the context of "coming home together", effectively exploiting cultural strengths is not only a need, but also a golden opportunity, contributing to promoting socio -economic development. The cultural exchange between the industrialized lowlands of Dong Nai and the typical highlands of Binh Phuoc, if effectively connected, will create a unique attraction for the tourism and cultural industry. Therefore, it is necessary to promote regional linkages in the development of cultural and historical tourism. Connecting routes such as: War Zone D Relic Site - Cat Tien National Park - Soc Bom Bo - Ta Thiet Base not only helps diversify tourism products, but also contributes to educating traditions and enhancing national pride.

An indispensable highlight is to promote the role of ethnic minority communities, especially the Stieng, M'nong, Choro people, etc., in preserving and developing culture. Values such as lullabies, epics, gongs, traditional crafts, etc., if properly invested in, will not only preserve their identity, but also become unique tourism products, contributing to improving people's livelihoods.

The journey of “coming home together” between Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc is a valuable opportunity to connect and enrich traditions and cultural strength. When building a cultural ecosystem with its own identity and promoting soft power from culture, it will contribute to promoting the sustainable socio-economic development of Dong Nai province.
