Ticket brokers dare not charge high prices, accepting 'only profit from a bowl of pho'

Starting from the afternoon of November 19, the number of ticket brokers for the match between the Vietnam team and the Iraq team began to operate strongly around the VFF ticket sales locations. There were about 10-15 people standing at the beginning of Le Quang Dao street - the headquarters of the VFF.

Because the attraction of the Vietnamese team is not as great as before, ticket brokers are not in a hurry to raise prices to sell as quickly as possible. According to the reporter's records, each ticket sold on the "black market" is only 50,000 VND higher than the original price.

There are quite a few customers interested in black market tickets, especially when the price difference is “acceptable”. Many people choose to buy through ticket brokers because VFF only sells tickets at certain times of the day. In addition, the number of tickets sold through official dispatches and direct sales is quite fast, at times, VFF earns hundreds of millions of VND in one ticket sale.

Responding to VTC News, a ticket broker said: “ At this time, we just hope that the Vietnamese team wins and wins continuously so that the attraction of football can heat up. Now, we accept selling tickets for a profit, rather than pushing the price up and then having to lower it below the listed price close to the match to get buyers .”

In fact, it is easier to buy tickets at these locations than online. On forums, the difference between the listed price and the listed price is 100-150 thousand VND/ticket.

However, not all customers are willing to pay for black market tickets because of their own concerns. Some foreign audiences were offered tickets by ticket brokers but refused to make the transaction. They asked about the sale time at VFF to buy directly because of the fear of "fake tickets".

Ticket prices for the match between Vietnam and Iraq in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup have four denominations: 200,000 VND, 300,000 VND, 450,000 VND and 600,000 VND. The Vietnam Football Federation will sell tickets online from November 7.

Vietnam will face Iraq on November 21 at My Dinh Stadium, which will also be the home stadium for all of Vietnam’s home matches in the second qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup in Asia.
