This is the fifth storm to sweep through the Philippines in the past month, while another storm is forecast to make landfall soon.

Typhoon Usagi in the Philippines is called Typhoon Ofel, forecast to make landfall in Cagayan province on the afternoon of November 14, local time.

According to Rueli Rapsing, head of the provincial disaster relief office, the Cagayan River is expected to rise and cause flooding due to heavy rains. Currently, the central and southern regions of Cagayan province are experiencing moderate to heavy rains while other areas of the province are experiencing wind gusts of up to 100 km/h. The government has prepared essential supplies such as generators in case of power outages and communication loss due to Typhoon Usagi.

According to weather forecasts, following Usagi, the Philippines will continue to welcome Typhoon Man-yi, in which the central region of the country will be affected on November 16. The Philippine Department of Transportation recommends that people in the central provinces should not go out unless necessary.

An average of 20 typhoons hit the Philippines each year, causing heavy rains, strong winds and dangerous landslides.

In October, Typhoons Trami and Kong-rey hit the main island of Luzon, killing 159 people. Twenty-two people are still missing.
